Embrace the Thanks... DO THE WORK #530

    enMarch 12, 2018

    Podcast Summary

    • Appreciate meaningful momentsTake time to absorb compliments and expressions of love, deepening connections and enhancing appreciation for life

We should slow down and fully appreciate the meaningful moments and compliments in life, rather than responding with an automatic "thank you" or "I love you too." These moments are rare and valuable, and taking a few seconds to absorb and respond to them can make a big difference. Instead of rushing through life, we should pause and reflect on the kindness and love that comes our way. This not only deepens our connections with others but also helps us appreciate the good things in life more fully. So next time someone thanks you, compliments you, or tells you they love you, take a moment to let it sink in before responding. It's a small change that can make a big difference in our relationships and overall well-being.

The Value in Thinking About the Day to Come

I have recently started to see a lot of benefits to starting the day by thinking about how I want the day to play out and what I need to do to make it play out that way.  Call it the daily pre-mortem.  I think it helps.  Try it.

What Did You Do About It?

Next time you want to blame someone else for being ____ ask yourself - what did I do about it?  We are quick to blame others when we could have done more or done things differently.  It's often partially our own fault, more than we would like to admit. Admit it and be better.

    82. Step Into the Power of Your Authenticity

Let’s talk about what it means to show up authentically in life. There are so many ways that we will avoid doing this and endless reasons that drive us to please others. I will touch on a few of those reasons in this episode and remind you that our tendency to people-please is an exercise in futility. It is also exhausting.

Consider stepping into your own truth and examining what that might look like. At the very least, reconnecting to the version of you that is waiting to be seen can generate powerful results for yourself and others. Try something new today! You might just surprise yourself.

While we’ll continue to cover the coronavirus pandemic until it’s over, we realize that this time requires more than news and information. We also need release — and relief. And we’ll do our best to provide that in the coming weeks. To start, we asked a few of our colleagues at The Times to share what’s bringing them comfort right now.
