The Bottom of the Iceberg... DO THE WORK - Day 330

    enAugust 10, 2017

    Podcast Summary

    • Unmeasurable effects of actionsRecognize and appreciate the unmeasurable impacts of our actions for personal fulfillment and positive change

While we often focus on measurable outcomes when evaluating the success of our actions, it's essential to remember and value the unmeasurable effects they have on ourselves and others. These unmeasurable effects, sometimes referred to as the "invisible" or "below the surface," can have significant and far-reaching impacts, especially in areas of conscious business and community involvement. For instance, a podcast may bring in a certain amount of money, but its true value lies in the lives it touches and the positive changes it initiates, which may not always be apparent or quantifiable. By recognizing and appreciating these unmeasurable effects, we can shift our focus towards fulfillment rather than just achievement, and create a ripple effect of positive change in our own lives and in the world around us.

    • The unmeasurable impact of our actionsOur actions have a ripple effect that goes beyond what we can see or measure, contributing to overall fulfillment and impact.

There is an unmeasurable impact or "bottom of the iceberg" effect that comes with any action we take. This effect may not be quantifiable, but it does exist and contributes to the overall impact of our actions. For example, the speaker mentioned having a large statistical dataset that benefits people, but not all of those people will ever contact him. This unmeasured impact adds to the fulfillment of producing the show for the speaker. It's important to recognize this unmeasurable impact because sometimes the measurable results may not meet expectations. However, it doesn't mean we should use it as an excuse to not produce or not strive for measurable results. Instead, we should be aware of the unmeasurable impact and factor it into our perspective. It's a reminder that our actions have a ripple effect that goes beyond what we can see or measure.

    • The human connections we make are invaluable and essential to our professional growth.Focusing on creating meaningful connections and making a difference in people's lives leads to a more fulfilling and self-sustaining work experience.

The impact of our work on people, the human connections we make, is an invaluable and essential aspect of our professional growth. This "bottom of the iceberg" stuff, whether it's a handwritten letter or an email, is something that stays with us forever and cannot be taken away. It's the human-to-human results that truly matter, even though they may not be measurable in dollars and statistics. When we focus on creating meaningful connections and making a difference in people's lives, our work becomes more fulfilling and self-sustaining. It's important to remember this human side of things and keep pushing through, as the results of our efforts will ultimately change our thoughts and evolve our work. So, keep doing the work, be thankful for the human connections you make, and never forget the unmeasurable impact you have on others.

Ep.47 – Special Guest – Peter Sleigh: From Chartered Accountant to Master Coach

In this episode of Unleashing Your Awesomeness, my special guest Peter Sleigh, shares his journey from being a Chartered Accountant to becoming a transformational coach. Join us as we explore the pivotal moments and profound insights that have shaped Peter's life and coaching career.

He’s journey began with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and
gradually transitioned into traditional business coaching and performance
coaching. His journey was marked by a burning desire to not only make his own
life nicer but also to help others do the same.

One of the most significant turning points in Peter's spiritual
journey was his encounter with Wayne Dyer. Dyer's teachings which deeply
resonated within him, igniting a spiritual spark that continues to guide him to
    this day.

As fate would have it, Peter stumbled upon the teachings of
Michael Neill, a renowned coach and author. He not only studied under Neill but
also became one of his apprentices. In this episode, Peter shares his
experiences at the Super Coach Academy and what it was like to learn from a
    true coaching master.

Peter generously opens up about his three most significant
insights, one of which had such a profound impact that it kept him awake at
night. These insights touch upon the essence of coaching, personal
transformation, and the power of the mind.

We also explore the concept of goals and how our ego can
sometimes hinder our progress until we embark on the journey of awakening.
Peter sheds light on our capacity to see things differently and the role of
    perception in creating our reality.

In this thought-provoking conversation, Peter shares what he is
currently discovering anew and how we can create not only ourselves but others
    too.

Ep. 45 - Special Guest: Vicky Gumley - Creating the Version of Others

Ep. 45 - Special Guest: Vicky Gumley - Creating the Version of Others

Vicky's journey into the world of personal development began with a financial scare brought on by the 2009 banking crash. Faced with uncertainty, she embarked on a quest for answers and deeper understanding. Her journey started with an interest in NLP, exploring it with Sue Knight.

Venturing into trance work with Stephen Gillighan, explored the depths of meditation with Dr. Joe Dispenza, and eventually stumbled upon the profound works of Sydney Banks and the 3 Principles.

One of the core realisations that emerged from her journey is the understanding that the world is experienced from the inside out. Our perceptions are not shaped by external circumstances but by our thinking. This paradigm shift completely transformed Vicky's life and how she relates to the world.

In our fascinating conversation, we explore the art of creating perceptions of others and how we often construct versions of people based on our own thinking. Discussing the power of authentic connection and the profound truth that we don't know what we don't know.
