Episode 47: YOU are the Creator of Your Life

Episode 47: YOU are the Creator of Your Life

Question for you:  Do you believe that life happens TO you or that you have the choice to create the life you desire?  So many would probably say the latter, but do their lives aptly reflect this as their truth?  Today’s episode dives into the fact that we were created to create!  We are different from the animal and plant kingdom, as we are made in the image of our Creator, and that means we were created with the ability to create…to create our lives, create our days, and create our future realities!

We are always creating results!  Yep, that’s true.  But are we creating the results we desire? Lisa shares how our dominant thoughts create our feelings, which spark action or lack of action and ultimately produce the results we have in our lives.  How about you?  Are your dominant thoughts like this: “I don’t have a choice.  I am stuck in this job and should just be grateful because it pays the bills. If I can just make it to retirement, then I will get to do what I truly want.”  This thinking will keep you stuck, frustrated and unfulfilled.

Sara encouraged us that creating your life may seem like a daunting task, but we get to also create our days and the moments in our days!  And guess what?  Your kids are watching you, and what attitude and action you take towards your dreams will play a huge role in how they approach their life as they grow up.  Lead by example and take those risks, step outside of your comfort zone and CREATE the life that others will only dream of!

Episode 43: The Danger of Should Goals and Making New Year’s Resolutions

Episode 43: The Danger of Should Goals and Making New Year’s Resolutions

Did you know that most people set wrong goals?  Yep, it’s true!

Last week we started this discussion with “What do you want your life to look like?” and learned about a great tool called the Wheel of Life, to help us become aware of where we are at with our goals and habits in the different areas of our life so we can then ask ourselves, “Where would I like to be?  How would I like my life to look like when my goal is achieved?”

In this episode we dive deeper into Goals.  Most people set “Should Goals” like “ I should lose 10 lbs. I should be more organized.” and the list could go on and on.  These types of goals are motivated by guilt and focus on changing a behavior, but this often doesn’t produce REAL growth.  Goals that bring about inner growth and transformation are the goals we want to focus on. And for more training, tools and connections, we invite you to join our FREE Facebook group here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/wakeupanddream/

Listen in to gain some valuable tools to do just that:

    • How to Create Future Memories
    • Focus on One Goal at a time

Sara shared 3 Action Steps you can take:

    1. Craft that life vision of future memories
    2. Pick one “soccer ball,” which is your NOW goal
    3. Ditch the Drama and Do it!

Episode 37: You were not intended to Stay as a Caterpillar! An Interview with Lisa Guillot

Episode 37: You were not intended to Stay as a Caterpillar! An Interview with Lisa Guillot

Today we had an incredible conversation with the amazing and inspirational powerhouse, Lisa Guillot.  Lisa is a certified transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert.  She is also the founder of Be Bright Lisa Coaching and Clear Vision You.  Here is her quote:

“Change is a function of altering what you are doing, to improve something that is already possible in our reality.  Transformation is a function of altering the way you are being to create something that is currently not possible in your reality.”   ~From The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss

Lisa has an amazing history of success in graphic design with some well-known companies such as Pottery Barn Kids, Sephora, Papersource and Gap, but in 2009 she decided to break out on her own and start her own company and had some great success there as well.  But Lisa describes how 2013 was the true beginning of her own personal transformation.  Lisa was introduced to this quote and this book The Last Word on Power by Tracy Goss during her Transformational Life and Leadership Coach training.  Within the book, the author describes the desire for transformation.  It uses the illustration of the caterpillar (your life is ok, but you are desiring more) and when you go into the chrysalis it is a time of vulnerability, darkness, struggle, yet the deep desire is that fact that they don’t want to emerge from the cocoon still a caterpillar!  They long to be transformed and become something totally different from who they were at the beginning.  This is what Lisa does with her clients, as she helps them to discover who they are at their core and then how to brand themselves in their life and business.

Lisa then goes on to explain her own transformation which you are going to LOVE!  Her story is incredible! If you are a high-achiever that rides on the stress of success, you will be so inspired by her personal story of transformation.  This journey greatly influences her mission to help women conceptually see the bright essence of who they are as their true self.

Lisa is such an amazing transformational mindset coach and personal branding expert, and if you would like to learn more about what she offers or wants to work with her, follow her podcast:  Find Your Clear Vision.  You can also connect with her on Instagram @BeBrightLisa or her website: www.bebrightlisa.com

Episode 28: Are you willing to go beyond your character?

Episode 28: Are you willing to go beyond your character?

Quote:  True strength doesn't come from your character but from your willingness to go beyond it. ~Gary John Bishop

In this episode, we dive deep into this quote.  Sara shared her difficult experience with the closing on her investment property, and how it tested her character yet she chose to go beyond it.  We talked a lot about character, which is a great thing to have, but if we don’t push ourselves beyond our current character, then we don’t grow.  We need to go beyond our feelings and really stay true to our mission and what it is that we want.  In every challenging situation, we can either play the role of the victim or the victor.  It all boils down to our willingness to go beyond our character.  If we respond the same way we have always responded expecting different results, we will be frustrated and disappointed.  That is just how it works.  Our thoughts and character are our choice.

Lisa mentioned the book The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.  In it, Micheal encourages us to let go of the thoughts and feelings that are not serving us.  This helps us to go beyond our own current character and into a place of growth.  Being willing to step beyond our present character is the first necessary step in this journey.

Top-Tier Talent 4: Jonas Deichmann on how to build a life of adventure!

Top-Tier Talent 4: Jonas Deichmann on how to build a life of adventure!

    Today’s guest is Jonas Deichmann.

Jonas Deichmann is a German extreme athlete, and is the holder of seven world records. He's the man that knows no limits and sees challenges as 'Don't see things as it can't be done, instead have the mindset that you can be the first person to do it!'

    - First to have completed a Triathlon around the World 🌍
    - Fastest to cycle across continents 🚴‍♂️

    In this interview, we discuss:

    • How you can build adventure into your life.
    • How to take a goal that is a massive challenge and break into manageable goals and find the key skills and experience you need to achieve them.
    • How to build a mindset of wonder and joy through hardship and challenges.
    • And so much more!

To get a flavour of the challenge he undertook, please watch this

Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on:

    • You are only defined by the limit on your imagination, you can be whoever you want to be.
    • Encourage your children to be adventurous and dream big, Jonas was inspired by a family member to try things himself too - imagine what you can do by inspiring those younger than you, to try and do in their life.
    • Use Jonas amazing mindset of 'Don't see things as it can't be done, instead have the mindset that you can be the first person to do it!' He has the belief that it can always be done, he just needs to find a way.
    • The first step on your journey will be the hardest to do, but so worth it!
    • We all need a challenge in our lives - Jonas wants to inspire to chase their dreams, whatever they are.
    • We are all too comfortable in our lives, find something that you are passionate about and give everything you have to achieve it.
    • Break goals down into smaller, more able focuses and challenges, such as completing the next 1km, aiming to swim past the next buoy and so on. Don't look to eat the whole frog at once as they say, take one small bite, then another, then another, and before you know it, you will have achieved your goal and finished the overall meal!
    • We all have too much stuff in life, and choose comfort over functionality. Look at your life and see what truly matters.
    • You do not need to do everything yourself, there are experts all over the world, knowledge sources you can access, free resources etc, take advantage of the skills training and knowledge available to meet your goals.
    • Planning now saves problems later.
    • Things will go wrong, bad things will happen, problems will arise and you will make mistakes. Train effectively so you fall back to the highest level of your training and not to the level of the problem. Challenge yourself daily, so you can take adversity head-on and not let it negatively affect you. Do small challenges daily, so you are used to it, so problems seem possible to overcome and not insurmountable.
    • Surround yourself with positive people on your team.
    • People will normally respond to change, they will say it won't work. It doesn't mean that it won't work, it just means no one has tried and made it work ... yet. Make your own path (safely and legally!).
    • "If you define the rules, you can also define the solutions".
    • "... real failure is to have a big dream and never follow it".
    • Concentrate on the things you can influence, let the rest flow past and deal with what happens. "There is always a solution".
    • Technology is a great resource, but don't let it become an emotional dummy to avoid feeling lonely.
    • There are a lot of amazing people in this world, you may need to leave your comfort zone to truly experience life as it can be!
    • If you want to challenge yourself but struggling for motivation, consider adding raising money for charity, doing it as part of a team etc, having others that will keep you accountable, will help motivate and inspire you to do it.
    • Try and see the good in life and in others.
    • Rest days don't need to be total rest, you can still use them to explore and have adventures on another scale, and embrace life.
    • Learn how to be comfortable in the uncomfortable by pushing yourself into uncomfortable situations regularly, so it becomes second nature to you.
    • Don't always believe what others tell you, or the worst of someone or something - go on your own experience and make your opinion. Don't let others spoil your potential!
    • Have the courage to follow your own dream!
    • Watch the trailer for the upcoming film below:

    CGP Ep382 Change

    CGP Ep382 Change

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes. This episode is here to challenge you to change. Change what? Change something! Not because what you are doing is wrong but because you need change to grow! Change ignites, motivates and pushes me to evolve and grow as a person, a professional and as a mentor. I just finished my first Mentorship of 2021 and witnessed 10 professionals embarking on their 5 year DreamBIG. If that doesn't get you jazzed on personal and professional level I don't know what will. You don't have to build a business or change the city you live in. It could be as small as changing your hair style, throwing out your dad clothes and shopping  for new duds. It could be changing your training programs to stimulate adaptation. Get bigger, get smaller, get stronger or get more efficient. Switch it up! In this episode we go DEEP into the process of change. If you are offended by my comedy, keep it to yourself, they are just jokes. If you are challenged by my honesty then act on it by making honest changes in your own life. If you love it, share it. If you hate it, change the channel. Love you for being a part of the Glistener Nation. We are holding our next Coach Glass Mentorship this May. If you want to be a part of the Coach Glass Mentorship family, its simple, apply and tighten your seatbelt. The 2021 ENVEREST Challenge is Calling Your Name

"Exercise without competition, without danger or purpose, didn't strengthen the body...it simply wore it out." ~ Norman Mailer

The short term future of our collective endurance sports scene is looking pretty darn bleak. But we've got just what you need: a ridiculous set of challenges designed to build your fitness and push the limits of what you think is possible: The ENVEREST Challenge: www.endurancenation.us/enverest

Three separate events running February, March and May of 2021. Each event has a training time / volume goal. There are different levels of completion. The degree of difficulty increases as you either opt into more "work," less time for the same "work," or an evil combination of them both.

Along the way, you'll be training and completing alongside new friends and teammates. There's a community space and chat channel as well as "event time" live communication.

We can't guarantee that your ENVEREST will be easy, but we can assure you that you won't be alone.

Registration is FREE and open to anyone: www.endurancenation.us/enverest

You can opt into a SWAG option, where you'll get some cool gear for $100 regardless of the challenges you do (one or all three); with a portion of proceeds going to the Challenged Athletes Foundation. You can order that SWAG through March 15, 2021 here: https://bit.ly/3oA1ksR

Overcome fear and challenge yourself to make life an adventure with Sarah Williams
Krish is joined by Sarah Williams, host of The Tough Girl Podcast and founder of Tough Girl Challenges. Sarah takes us along with her from an unfulfilling career in banking, through gruelling physical challenges, to where she is now; inspiring women and girls to overcome their self-doubt, challenge themselves to set ambitious goals in life, and have adventures of their own through Tough Girl Challenges. Sarah’s adventures have taken her on foot through the notoriously tough Marathon des Sables, and along the length of the Appalachian Trial in a mere 3 months, before switching to wheels to cycle the Pacific Coast Highway. Along the way, Sarah realised her perseverance and ambitious physical challenges had the power to inspire others to set and achieve their own goals, overcome their fears, and push themselves in their everyday lives. Motivating young girls in schools, and inspiring thousands globally with the Tough Girl Podcast, Sarah talks Krish through how she helps others through her own impressive journey, and the sacrifices she has made to get there. Sarah highlights the vital mental resilience needed for any physical challenge, emphasising the importance of ‘enjoying the process, enjoying the journey…that’s where the power comes from’, and speaks of ‘knowing your why’; what is it that keeps you going, and stops you from getting overwhelmed by the task at hand?  She remembers the initial judgement she felt from peers upon quitting banking and started adventuring, and talks through how to cope with this and focus on your own goals and ambitions. The most important step? Getting started. Want to follow Sarah’s next adventure, and get motivated to take on your own challenge? Book Challenge #3: Change Perspective & Seek the Lesson
I’ve always been a dreamer and a planner. But, rarely do I take action on my dreams & Goals. But, recently I realized that actions lead to actual results and I need to combine both strategies. Therefore, I decided to challenge myself with something every single week, commit, take action, note down & share my lessons & results and just... see what happens and where that will lead me...

In this Episode, I am going to share my 3rd weekly challenge: I will challenge myself to be more positive and change perspective every single day for a week; the lessons I learned, if it was successful, why and how to start & do it yourself and overall, how it went. Come along... it’s Katherine’s Talk-Challenge Time!
