S05E02: Sesame Street Kids' Guide To Life: Telling The Truth
S05E01: DragonHeart
...about September 30, 1955 (1977) with Alex Simon
In 1977 James Bridges cashed in his “Paper Chase” cred to make this deeply personal film about the effect of James Dean’s death on a group of young Arkansans played by a supremely talented gang of newcomers to the screen. Alex Simon of The Hollywood Interview is our guest co-host for this episode
Written and Directed by James Bridges. Cinematographer Gordon Willis. Starring Richard Thomas, Susan Tyrrell, Lisa Blount, Thomas Hulce, Dennis Quaid, Dennis Christopher
How is the world wrong about this movie?
From Andras: Released with little fanfare the same year as “Star Wars” toward the end of the wave of cinematic nostalgia for the 50’s that was kicked off with “American Graffiti” you could say this film is both a beneficiary and the victim of George Lucas’s success.
Produced by Andras Jones
Hosted by Andras Jones & Bryan Connolly
Executive Producer: Erica Russel

...about Wilder Napalm (1993)
Estranged brothers have strange powers in this strange movie from the mind of Vince Gilligan.
Directed by Glen Gordon Caron. Written by Vince Gilligan. Starring Arliss Howard, Dennis Quaid, Debra Winger, M. Emmett Walsh & Jim Varney
How is the world wrong about this movie?
From Bryan: Sadly this movie was shelved and released few years later to little to no fanfare. I love this movie! It has an odd comedic/supernatural tone way ahead of its time, courtesy of a brilliant script from future Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. Dennis Quaid is having great fun here. He’s a well respected actor, but I feel he doesn’t get the credit he should for his bigger, crazier performance, like the one he gifts us here. Oh! Did I mention this also stars Jim Varney as a Carny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week was Seth's pick and he chose 'Enemy Mine' from 1985.A movie he and Dasher had seen 20 years ago but Ian had seen never. Is it sci-fi garbage or a forgotten gem? Listen and find out.

The Snake Man Cometh! Zach, Danny, and returning guest Casey Brewer all have some strong opinions on the 1984 film Dreamscape. Everyone's got an opinion. And apparently we all have different ones when it comes to Dreamscape.
Things we learn in episode 14 of How I Met Your Monster:
• Zach can't pronounce the order "orchestrally."
• Danny has two feature length scripts available on The Blacklist.
• Casey thinks every movie is Dumb & Dumber.

Dennis Quaid - America, I Love You Too
Acclaimed actor Dennis Quaid spends the day at Phil’s Nashville estate, and the antics are endless! Quaid discusses his “first love” - music - and how he’s been able to incorporate it into his acting career. The two bond over the release and emotional benefit that comes from writing songs. Dennis talks about playing Jerry Lee Lewis in “Great Balls of Fire,” where he only had 1 year to learn how to play piano, and was given lessons by Jerry himself.
