    No Harm, No Foul

    No Harm, No Foul

Welcome back to Navigate the Day, where we explore ways to live our best lives and make the most of every day. Today's episode, titled "No Harm, No Foul," is all about the power of perception and how we can change our interpretation of events to eliminate unnecessary suffering.

We start off with a powerful quote from Marcus Aurelius, reminding us that we have control over our own perceptions and interpretations of events. By changing our perspective and letting go of negative beliefs or opinions, we can free ourselves from unnecessary harm and distress.

Our journal prompt for today is all about asking ourselves, "Can I stop feeling hurt by every little thing?" It's a question that we can all relate to, and it's one that we need to take seriously if we want to live our best lives.

As we explore this question, we learn that words hold power, but only if we allow them to have power over us. We also discover the importance of reframing situations, seeing them as obstacles or challenges to overcome, rather than as harm or hurtful experiences.

We also dive into the topic of judgment, and how it keeps us from achieving happiness. We realize that in order to stop judging others, we first need to learn how to stop judging ourselves so harshly. And we learn that this can be a humbling process, but one that is necessary for our growth and development.

Overall, today's episode is all about taking control of our perceptions and interpretations of events, and learning how to eliminate unnecessary harm and distress from our lives. So let's take this lesson to heart and start living our best lives today.

Thank you for listening and joining me on my journey of self-discovery!

Body Image and Eating Disorder Recovery: How to Rebuild a Positive Body Image

Body Image and Eating Disorder Recovery: How to Rebuild a Positive Body Image

Welcome to the Recover To Flourish podcast, where we explore all aspects of eating disorder recovery. In today's episode, we'll be discussing body image and how to rebuild a positive body image in eating disorder recovery.

Body image is a complex topic that can be challenging to navigate, especially for those in recovery. Negative body image is a common struggle among individuals with eating disorders, and it can be difficult to know where to start when trying to rebuild a positive body image.

In this episode, we'll be exploring some practical tips and strategies for cultivating a positive body image in recovery. We'll talk about how to recognise and challenge negative self-talk, the importance of self-compassion, how to focus on our abilities rather than appearance, and the impact of social media and other external factors on body image.

We'll also touch on why it's normal to have bad body image days in recovery, and how to cope with those difficult times.

As always, i'll draw on personal experience, expert advice, and scientific research to guide our discussion. Whether you're in the early stages of recovery or further along in your journey, this episode will offer insights and inspiration for cultivating a positive body image and thriving in recovery.

Join me for this important conversation on body image and eating disorder recovery.

S1EP127 Talking Ourselves Out of Something Awesome

Sometimes we can talk ourselves out of something amazingly awesome.

Join me today as I share some stories where this has popped up in our own lives and how we move past it, refusing to let it stop us from the awesome possibilities waiting for us on the other side.

We are rarely going to have all the answers up front and we can't predict the future. Instead, we need to learn how to let things unfold without stressing ourselves out worrying about all the negative possible futures.

Life is an adventure, so enjoy the ride!

    Back from the Brink

    Back from the Brink

In this episode I explain how the hardest three weeks have impacted me, and in particular how the last two days have been undoubtably the most difficult of my mental health journey so far. But fear not! This episode has a positive ending! But it took everything I had to get there. This is as raw, genuine and real as it gets. This is an episode coming from the frontlines of my mental health battle. The good news is, I got a few good shots in!

Ep. 14 - The Fool & Nine of Wands

What words do you use to talk to yourself, about yourself?

Our word choice is incredibly powerful, and negative self-talk can have long-lasting, devastating effects. The words we use are one of the few things in life we have complete control over, yet so many of us use harmful, painful words when talking about ourselves.

On this week's episode, I get into...

    • The importance of positive self-talk
    • The first step in reducing negative self-talk
    • How adventure and resiliency will come into play this week

    132. Continuing to Impact your Child's Self-Perception & Uncover their Strengths

    132. Continuing to Impact your Child's Self-Perception & Uncover their Strengths

Part of our role as intentional moms is to identify God’s unique design in our children, to help them to see it clearly for themselves, and, to  help them to allow the Holy Spirit to HONE their gifts & strengths and work on their "weaknesses" that may be strengths that are just covered up.   HOW DO WE DO THIS?  How do we discover our child's design and impact their self-perception?  We are continuing this topic this week as we also continue about dealing with negative self-talk.

This process is the tremendous privilege we are given in motherhood of partnering with our kids and with God to develop their lives into their purpose.   Here's a link to the blog post for Episode 63.

"...snails are a lot like many kids (and even many of us adults) that only see the ordinary part of ourselves – maybe even see our ordinariness as unattractive and unwanted when all the while, we have wonderful, uniquely-designed-by-God qualities that we don’t see...."

Episode 63, Unlock Your Child's Strengths & Impact their Self-Perception,  focuses on two of our child's heart-questions,  “Am I worth Knowing?” and “Am I worth Believing In?”
It gives insight into how to DISCOVER your child's strengths that may be hiding behind "weaknesses" and also gives practical ways to impact your child's self-perception.

In this second week with my material, "Your Love Becomes Their Strength, Answering the Six Questions of Your Child's Heart," we join again with the Chosen Mamas Podcast, where I was asked to be a guest for an event followed by a Q&A session.

Don't Be So Hard on Yourself

Don't Be So Hard on Yourself

Are you hard on yourself? Are ya? You…I’m talkin to you.
Yeah, maybe not all the time but sometimes…a little bit of that negative self-talk kickin in there about this, that, or the other thing.

Maybe it’s how much money you’ve made, or didn’t. How much time you’re working in your business or not, or that thing that you didn’t do just quite right or perfect enough.

I work with a lot of business owners and talk to a lot of business owners and I find that they can be positive, optimistic individuals on the outside, and then when we dig in a little bit, we realize they’re not actually that happy with their performance.  Despite all the outward signs that they’re doing a great job.
