When Your Child Strays Off the Path

When Your Child Strays Off the Path

In this episode, we will be discussing the difficult topic of when one of our children strays off the path. As a parent, it can be heartbreaking to see your child making "wrong" choices. Marci will offer you a different perspective that will create peace and empower you to show up in faith, trust and confidence.

Many mothers are operating from fear, sadness, and guilt. You will learn you have a choice to choose faith, trust, and confidence.

While the focus of this episode is on mothers, the lessons shared can be applied to other relationships as well. We will explore the unnecessary guilt and suffering that often accompanies the feeling that our child has strayed from the path. We will discuss how to acknowledge what's happening for you while keeping yourself in clean pain instead of dirty pain. We will also address the idea of not knowing what's best for our child and how to love and accept them while still staying true to your beliefs.

Ultimately, we will explore the idea of viewing our child's journey like a documentary and how we can support them through their experiences. If you are struggling with a child who has strayed from the path, this episode is for you.

How to Make School Better - Ideas from a 9-year-old

How to Make School Better - Ideas from a 9-year-old

I loved having this conversation with Alex, my nephew, on how to improve schools. Alex has a unique way of seeing things and wants to improve his school for the better. There are so many outstanding teachers out there. This conversation is not meant to discredit teachers. This is a different way to look at reframing things from the eyes of the student.

What we go over on how to make school better:

    • Dirty water fountains, the school should have safer water for kids.
    • Reframing how teachers ask if there are any questions
    • Positive ways to encourage kids to ask questions
    • Alex disagrees that recess should go away as a punishment. Kids need movement to get their energy out so they can focus in class
    • Fun fact from Alex - the kids riding their bikes to school are more focused than those who don’t
    • Teachers should be teaching about financial literacy
    • Kindergarten was fun because the learned kids learned through doing and participating in activities
    • Alex’s favorite subject is reading. We discuss ways to make reading fun and still educational
    • Standardized testing is outrageous, in Alex’s words. Too much pressure on kids and not a great measure of what children actually know
    • Ways to spend more time on socialization to help kids make new friends and learn how to be social
