Impact Edit: Jam the Label - The Power Of A Purpose Driven Brand

Welcome to Impact Edit, where we bring you the most powerful insights and golden nuggets from our impactful conversations with thought leaders and changemakers in the fashion industry.  We are revisiting a remarkable episode that left a lasting impression.

In this snippet from our original podcast episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Molly Rogers and Emma Clegg, the inspiring co-founders of JAM the label. Their journey began with a shared passion for occupational therapy and a deep empathy for young people with disabilities.

Molly and Emma recognized the challenges faced by individuals in wheelchairs when it came to finding fashionable and functional clothing. They refused to accept compromise and embarked on a mission to create inclusive fashion for young people with disabilities. Thus, JAM the label was born in 2019, named after two remarkable teenagers, Jack and Maddie.

With design features like magnetic closures, side-zip jackets, and pants tailored for seated comfort, JAM has redefined inclusivity in fashion. Starting with just one product, they have now expanded to partner with external retailers, including EveryHuman, Averee, and THE ICONIC.

Their dream? To become the number one inclusive fashion brand in Australia, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can feel cool, proud, and stylish in their clothing. Molly and Emma's story is a testament to the transformative power of passion, empathy, and unwavering dedication.

As we revisit this episode, we encourage you to listen closely to the insights, strategies, and perspectives shared by these remarkable founders. Their wisdom is a true golden nugget that can spark new ideas, inspire change, and help you make a lasting impact in your business, with your team, and within your community.

So, whether you're an established business owner or just beginning your entrepreneurial journey, get ready to be equipped with valuable information and inspiration. Impact Edit is here to provide maximum impact in minimum time.
Thank you for joining us, and let's dive into this empowering episode of Impact Edit.

Do you see Harry or Chewbacca? This is a test.

Do you see Harry or Chewbacca? This is a test.

In the middle of 2020 I called Nick Romerhausen. I asked if he could give me reasons why employers might not want to hire me and he scrambled to the phone with a list. What started as an interview, ended in reminiscing. In retrospect, 29 months after the interview, I can see my evolution and the same trajectory that lies far beyond what I can see from there or here. Nick reminds me that I've put a lot of good work in. I'm hungry for more. Nick talks about his management and teaching style, the solid he did me by sitting on my masters project committee, and how, yet again, I make more work him.

Stay tuned for the next episode. @iheatheri @fordstudiob

Friend or Foe? Gerald - Survivor, pickleball, and being better.

My timeline collided with Gerald Djajaputra's at Eastern Michigan University in the fall of 2018. We didn't make for fast friends but soon found we'd solidified a foundational partnership we both could depend on.  A powerful and productive pair, our alliance isn't a surprise to anyone who knows us. Overlapping our work and play, our compatibility manifests not just in our common interests but in ways we find value in our lives.

Continuing the theme of "why Heather Irvine is trouble", Gerald admits who I remind him of in the game of Survivor, how I cause him and others more work, and why he’s frustratingly unflappable.
