Join us as we sit down with Erin Coates! She walks us through the last two years when the Canadian government tried to close their church, Grace Life, down in the name of "covid safety." The church, Erin, and her husband and Grace Life's preaching pastor, James Coates, stayed faithful to God's Word refusing to close, even when James was imprisoned for it. Erin gives us a first-hand look at not only the difficulties and darkness of that time, but also the faithfulness of God, and the opportunities to spread the Gospel - opportunities that continue today. We also got a chance to pick Erin's brain on women's ministry, the need for Biblical Truth, and the state of the evangelical church today.

In the last episode, we delved into Ephesians 5:22 - 24 where Paul directed Christian Wives to submit to their own husbands. In this episode, it's the Christian husband's turn. Paul spent 3 verses giving Christian Wives an imperative, yet he spends 11 verses giving Christian husbands an imperative. We know Christian husbands are to lead their family, but what exactly does that mean and what does that look like? This passage has been misunderstood, misused, and abused. But when you interpret this passage in light of the original audience, the rest of the letter to the Ephesians and the rest of Scripture, there is no excuse to get this wrong. Join us as we dive in!

On this episode we host Cynthia Pitts who surrendered to God’s call of full-time ministry in 2008, after a life time of loving God and studying His word.  Since that call, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, and continued to seek out opportunities to fine-tune her knowledge and understanding of God’s word and His call on her life. She was licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2014.

One of the things God has taught Cynthia and her husband Joe is a need to step into places where He can show His love and healing power to those who don’t necessarily know the love of God in their life.  Additionally they believe God also desires for Joe to be a voice for those who don’t have a voice in the community as he currently serves as the mayor of the city of Clarksville, Tennessee.  

It is their belief that politics, as strange as it sounds and seems, has become their mission field serving the people in the love of Christ where Christ isn’t seen.  It is God who stands in judgment of our actions and they know they have been called to love and live a different way.

Sherry has experienced heartbreaking grief through the loss of both her sister and her youngest son in a span of three years.  On this episode, Sherry shares the difficult road of watching her sister suffer with cancer and the tragedy of losing her son to an overdose, even after the family thought that he was recovering and doing so well.  Sherry hopes that by opening up in an honest, brave and sometimes raw conversation that she might help others who are suffering through addiction of a family member, grieving tremendous loss or those of us who struggle with what to do or say to help in times of deep sorrow.  You don't want to miss this conversation....there is something for all of us.
