    Podcast Summary

    • Disappointment towards friends for failing to act during critical momentsIndividuals must stand up for their beliefs and not be coerced, protecting individual autonomy can have significant consequences.

During a critical moment when collective action was required, such as addressing the COVID-19 situation, some individuals failed to act. Dr. Bret Weinstein, a guest on the Dark Horse Podcast, expressed disappointment towards his friends who did not address the issue despite it being a pivotal moment. He emphasized the importance of standing up for one's beliefs and not being coerced into making decisions against one's will, citing the violation of his own contract as an example. The conversation also touched upon the issue of vaccine mandates and the definition of consent in light of potential negative repercussions. The discussion highlighted the importance of individual autonomy and the potential consequences of not exercising it.

    • Hidden medical trial data reveals over 1200 deathsThe revelation of a 75-year-old court-ordered hidden medical trial data showing over 1200 deaths in the first three months raises ethical concerns, potentially violating the Nuremberg Code, and involving coercion and potential crimes against humanity

The historical data on the human trials of a certain medical intervention, which was kept hidden for 75 years after a court order, reveals over 1200 deaths in the first three months. This raises serious ethical concerns, as it potentially violates the Nuremberg Code, particularly regarding informed consent. The coercive nature of the situation, with people losing their jobs if they didn't comply, added to the moral dilemma. Furthermore, those who propagated, defended, or supported these actions, even if they were just following orders, could also be held accountable for their participation in this potential crime against humanity. The long-term implications are equally concerning, as the removal of dissenting voices from key institutions could lead to a society where moral judgments are no longer made, setting the stage for future tragedies. The deliberate encouragement of narcissism in society, which destroys community and the ability to make moral judgments collectively, further exacerbates this issue.

    • The importance of community connectionsStrong community connections provide individuals with the courage and moral fabric to challenge harmful narratives, but modern society encourages narcissism, solipsism, and disconnection, hindering moral decision-making for the betterment of humanity.

The lack of strong community connections can hinder individuals from making moral decisions for the betterment of humanity. This is due in part to the encouragement of narcissism, solipsism, and sophistry in modern society. Additionally, changes in social norms around relationships and technology have disconnected people from each other, further exacerbating the issue. The importance of community support and meaningful connections cannot be overstated, as it provides individuals with the courage and moral fabric to speak up and challenge harmful narratives. To address this issue, it is essential to examine the root causes across various sectors and engage in interdisciplinary conversations. By fostering stronger community connections, we can create a more resilient and morally grounded society.

    • Personal experiences and courageConfronting challenges and hardships can help individuals discern truth from fiction, while academic environments can hinder this ability due to fear and cowardice.

Personal experiences and the courage to face challenges can serve as a "reality check" and strengthen one's ability to discern truth from fiction. The speaker emphasizes that many people have been unwilling to confront the COVID narratives due to fear, and those who have gone through significant hardships may be better equipped to see through the sophistry used to obscure the truth. The speaker also touches upon the academic environment and how it can foster an atmosphere of cowardice, making it less likely for individuals to speak out against false narratives when they arise. Overall, the discussion highlights the importance of resilience and courage in navigating complex and misleading information.

    • Loving relationships provide courage and counteract fearThe absence of strong relationships can make individuals more susceptible to negative influences, while loving relationships provide courage and counteract fear. Personal experiences and the academic world were given as examples.

The absence of strong, loving relationships can lead to a lack of courage and an increase in fear, making individuals more susceptible to being influenced negatively. The academia, with its risk-averse culture, was highlighted as an example where this was evident during a crisis. People who surprised us with their courage were often not part of the faculty. The speaker shared his personal experience of being motivated to fight against mandates when it came to his child's wellbeing. He emphasized that the value of loving relationships lies in the courage they provide, making it harder for external forces to hijack individuals' good intentions. The speaker also touched upon the importance of exploring the concept of lineage in evolutionary space.

    • Parents' role as protectors of their lineageParents should prioritize their children's well-being over societal pressures, as they have a responsibility to protect their lineage and act as shields against harm.

The debate in the speaker's field regarding selection theories in biology boils down to individual selection, kin selection, and group selection. However, the speaker argues that lineage is the most crucial concept. He explains that people are willing to die for a cause that benefits their lineage, and the absence of this desire can lead to radical failures, such as the experimental use of puberty blockers on children. The speaker strongly believes that parents have a responsibility to protect their children, and the idea of harming a child is universally despised. He uses his personal experience of receiving unknown injections as a child to illustrate the concept of being maimed and the importance of parental protection. The speaker's stance is that parents should not tolerate any harm coming to their children and should stand firm against it. The role of a parent is to act as a shield, and the current situation, with the mandates and the shift in perception regarding trans issues, represents a failure to understand this role.

    • Influence of experiences and information on our perceptionOur experiences and information shape our perception of issues, but can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and confusion when new information challenges our simplified understanding

Our understanding and perception of certain issues can be influenced by our experiences and the information we have been given. The discussion touched upon the concern over children being given certain treatments without parental consent. While acknowledging the challenges faced by trans individuals, the speaker's primary concern was the use of puberty blockers on prepubescent children without parental consent. He believes this is a failure of parental responsibility and a reflection of a larger societal issue. The speaker also suggests that people's reactions to new information can be influenced by their past experiences and beliefs. Using the analogy of optical illusions, he explains that our minds simplify complex information to make decisions, but sometimes, new information can challenge these simplifications, leading to confusion and uncertainty. The speaker's experience with the MMR vaccine and the Wakefield scandal serves as an example of how people's beliefs and trust in the system can influence their reactions to new information.

    • Lack of transparency and conflicts of interest erode trust in vaccine institutionsThe importance of transparency in vaccine production and distribution cannot be overstated. Lack of data release and potential conflicts of interest hinder informed decision-making and erode public trust.

The recent public debate surrounding the safety and transparency of vaccines has highlighted the importance of trust in the institutions responsible for their production and distribution. The speaker expressed concern that the lack of transparency and potential conflicts of interest have eroded trust in these institutions, making it difficult for individuals to make informed decisions about vaccination. This issue was exemplified during a debate at the World Health Council Conference, where the lack of released data on vaccine safety and potential risks was discussed. The speaker also shared personal experiences and concerns about the increase in food allergies and their potential connection to vaccines. Ultimately, the speaker emphasized that even if vaccines are beneficial, their value is diminished if they come from sources that are no longer trusted. The speaker's perspective underscores the need for greater transparency and accountability in the production and distribution of vaccines to help restore public trust and confidence.

    • Exposing Failures in Institutions During the COVID-19 PandemicThe COVID-19 pandemic response has highlighted significant failures in various institutions, including science, public health, journalism, and politics. We are in an ideological war about the manipulation and weaponization of information, and it's crucial to address the root causes, not just the data.

The COVID-19 pandemic response has exposed significant failures in various institutions, including science, public health, journalism, and politics. The speaker argues that we are in an ideological war, not just about data, but about the manipulation and weaponization of information. The issues at hand include the lab leak origin of the virus, the effectiveness of early treatments, and the safety and efficacy of vaccines. Once we understand how wrong we were told to be on these fronts, we realize that university science, public health apparatus, journalism, and politics have all failed us. This is a terrifying realization, as it highlights the potential danger we face when these institutions don't function correctly. The speaker emphasizes the importance of recognizing this and addressing the root causes, rather than just focusing on the data. The conversation around providing data is part of the problem, as correct information can be weaponized just as easily as incorrect information. The challenge lies in addressing the failure of these institutions and our collective consciousness to imagine a future beyond technocracy. The speaker believes we are at a "death star moment," where the stakes are high, and we must defend our beliefs against those who may accuse us of alarmism or defending genocide, as in the case of China's lockdowns and concentration camps.

    • Information Crisis in Public Health: Vaccines and Herd ImmunityThe information crisis in public health, particularly around vaccines and herd immunity, makes it difficult to trust available data due to manipulation and corruption, increasing skepticism and potentially leading to chaos if democratic institutions fail to provide transparency and accountability.

We're currently facing an information crisis where important data and knowledge are being withheld or distorted, leading to confusion and mistrust. This issue is particularly evident in the ongoing debate around vaccines and public health policies. Despite herd immunity, new generations continue to be born, increasing the number of unvaccinated individuals. If we don't vaccinate them, there's a risk of outbreaks, which could lead to numerous preventable deaths. However, it's challenging to measure the net effect of vaccines due to the limitations of all-cause mortality data. Moreover, the corruption and manipulation of information further complicate the situation, making it difficult to trust even the available data. Ultimately, the lack of transparency and accountability from institutions leaves us in a precarious position, as people become increasingly skeptical and desperate for answers. The situation could potentially escalate into riots and chaos if the democratic institutions fail to serve the people. The best defense against this is for individuals to critically evaluate information from various sources and develop a healthy skepticism towards official narratives.

    • At war with Goliath: Understanding the threat of extremism and suppression of truthRecognized expert Robert Malone warns of the rise of extremism and suppression of truth, shares personal experiences, and suggests we're dealing with a powerful entity called 'Goliath'. Engaging in truthful conversations outside mainstream media is a threat and comes with a cost, but the potential for change lies with the public.

We are in a time where extremism and the suppression of truth are on the rise, and those trying to raise awareness are being marginalized. Robert Malone, a recognized expert on extremism, shares his concerns based on his personal experiences and the current state of affairs. He believes that we are at war, and those in power are not listening to those who understand the situation. The arrest of journalist Jack Posobiec at the WEF Davos for filming is an example of this. Malone suggests that we are dealing with a powerful entity, which he calls "Goliath" or the "death star," that is a combination of conspiracy and emergent properties. This entity is not good at fighting things it doesn't understand, and the ongoing conversations happening outside of mainstream media, such as the high-quality discussions on podcasts, are a threat to it. The cost of standing up against this entity has been high, but the potential for change lies in the ability of the public to seek out and engage in truthful conversations.

    • Navigating complex issues and building strong relationshipsDespite facing censorship and reputation damage, we view these experiences as learning opportunities. To make real progress, we need to build stronger teams and collaborate effectively, recognizing the value of different skill sets.

Navigating complex issues, such as online censorship and controversial topics, can be a challenging and frustrating experience. Heather and I have faced this firsthand, with our YouTube channel being censored and our reputations being tarnished. This not only impacted our ability to earn income from the platform but also made it harder for us to build partnerships outside of it. However, we view these experiences as learning opportunities for the future. We've been compared to guerrilla warriors, using unconventional tactics to make an impact. But, as we've seen, these tactics can only go so far before the larger forces come into play. In order to make real progress, we need to build stronger teams and collaborate effectively. This is a challenge for those of us who value independence of thought, as we often tend to be less team-oriented. Additionally, the evolution of myths and stories can provide insight into the changing nature of hero's journeys and the importance of asymmetrical partnerships. By recognizing the value of different skill sets and working together, we can make progress on even the most daunting of issues. In conclusion, the journey may be long and filled with obstacles, but by staying focused on our ideals and building strong relationships, we can continue to make a difference.

    • The power of myths and stories in shaping societyMyths and stories have shaped societal contracts and continue to influence our response to current issues, with examples in literature, film, religion, and law.

The power of myths and stories in shaping our society and constructing social contracts cannot be underestimated. The Matrix films serve as an example of this, with the original creators being forced to return to write the sequels despite their initial reluctance. This phenomenon is not unique to the film industry, as we can observe similar adaptations in literature and other forms of media. The importance of recognizing valuable myths and stories in addressing current societal issues was emphasized, as they have the potential to shape the future. The delayed reaction of these myths manifesting in our social contracts was highlighted, with religion and law being cited as examples. Ultimately, the collective response to these myths and stories in a long-term context is crucial in addressing the challenges we face as a society.

    • Navigating the digital age to create new mythsRecognize the need for new myths in the digital age, adapt to the current context, and navigate consciously to find effective solutions to pressing problems.

We're facing a complex and pressing issue that requires immediate attention and adaptation, rather than relying on outdated myths or narratives. The current global situation is unlike anything we've faced before, and the power of technologies under its management necessitates urgent action to ensure rational behavior. While there is truth in the timelessness of certain myths, they may not be relevant to the specific problem we're facing today. In fact, they could even steer us in the wrong direction if they were evolved in environments that were very different than the one we're in. We need to be aware of this and create or adapt a new myth or narrative to deal with the acute and potentially terminal problem we're facing. However, the challenge lies in the fact that traditional methods of myth creation and evolution may not be effective in today's digital age, where narratives are often shaped by the market rather than by the evolution of culture and society. Therefore, it's crucial that we navigate this situation consciously and adapt to the current context to find solutions to the problems at hand.

    • Preserving and Adapting Multigenerational MythsCurrent generation holds responsibility to adapt myths for current challenges, possessing crucial perspective, but it's a daunting task due to uniqueness and acuteness of challenges, necessary for effective problem solving during unprecedented times.

The current generation, specifically those who grew up before the widespread use of mobile phones and the internet, holds a unique responsibility to preserve and adapt multigenerational myths in order to find equilibrium in the face of current societal challenges. These myths, which have evolved over years and are often passed down through lineage, provide wisdom and power that surpasses that of any single individual or generation. However, adapting these myths to address current issues is a daunting task due to the acuteness and uniqueness of the challenges we face today. The responsibility lies with those who remember the world before mobile phones and the internet, as they possess a crucial perspective that younger generations lack. This task is not only a huge burden but also nearly impossible to accomplish, as myths are complex and deeply rooted in history. Yet, it is necessary for the current generation to utilize these myths in order to effectively tackle the challenges we face. The COVID-19 pandemic serves as a recent example of the importance of this task, as it highlighted the need for collective wisdom and understanding to navigate unprecedented times.

    • The pandemic's impact on doctor-patient relationships and the spread of misinformationMaintain open communication and curiosity, address misinformation, and strengthen relationships during uncertain times.

The dynamic between doctors, patients, and even doctors amongst themselves has experienced a significant shift towards centralization during the pandemic, with the CDC acting as a central authority. This shift was insidious, as it occurred through the distribution of incorrect information to various parties, leading to a collective adherence to misinformation. Similarly, social media presents a false sense of horizontal connectivity, but the algorithms at play can be compared to a hidden hypnotist, manipulating information and targeting individuals without their knowledge. In our personal lives, it's crucial to maintain open communication and curiosity when faced with differing viewpoints, especially within our close circles. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of understanding and addressing misinformation, and the value of maintaining strong, trusting relationships with those around us.

    • Lamenting missed opportunities during crisesDuring crises, it's crucial for individuals and communities to take action. Disappointment is expressed towards those who missed an opportunity to contribute, but forgiveness and open-mindedness are encouraged.

During times of crisis, it's essential for individuals and communities to step up and address the issues at hand. The speaker laments the failure of a specific group of people, whom they consider responsible, to acknowledge and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. They believe these individuals missed an opportunity to make a difference and contribute to the collective progress. The speaker emphasizes that this is not a personal attack but a disappointment that the moment for significant action was missed. Despite this, there is still a chance for these individuals to reconsider their stance and reassess their beliefs based on new information. The speaker encourages them to revisit their thought process and consider that they may have been wrong on some aspects, such as the origin of the virus, vaccine safety and effectiveness, and the use of ivermectin. The speaker concludes by offering forgiveness for any past misunderstandings and encouraging open-mindedness and critical thinking.

    • Learning from mistakes and finding common groundAcknowledge errors, prioritize truth, and unite against misinformation and division, emphasizing transparency and fact-checking.

Despite disagreements and misunderstandings among friends, it's crucial for us to learn from our mistakes and come together on issues that matter, such as exposing propaganda and fighting against technocratic slavery. The speakers in the discussion emphasized the importance of acknowledging when we've been wrong and the need to find common ground. They also highlighted the importance of transparency and fact-checking, especially in the context of ongoing health crises and public debates. The discussion touched on the importance of not letting personal differences or political affiliations fragment the group, and instead focusing on the bigger picture. The speakers shared their experiences of being misled in the past and emphasized the importance of speaking up and correcting the record when necessary. Overall, the conversation underscored the importance of truth, transparency, and unity in the face of misinformation and division.

    • Embracing Understanding and DialogueRecognize the gravity of global issues, transcend differences, embrace perspective updates, communicate openly, and prioritize understanding and dialogue over disagreement and silence.

We are facing larger global issues that require unity and understanding among individuals, even if they hold different political beliefs. The speaker emphasizes the importance of recognizing the gravity of the current situation and being willing to transcend differences. He encourages open communication and the embrace of those who update their perspectives. However, silence on important issues is not acceptable and can be destructive. The speaker plans to address these topics in more depth through his upcoming interview and live shows. Ultimately, it's crucial to remember that we should prioritize understanding and dialogue over disagreement and silence.

    • Starting a new wellness show with a friend and MMA trainerEmbracing community and combating narcissism through a new wellness show, with the support of friends and trainers.

The speaker is starting a new live streaming show focused on wellness, health, and lifestyle, which will be a more casual and conversational format compared to their previous work addressing heavy topics like care home deaths. They plan to have guests join them, including a long-time friend and MMA trainer. The show aims to encourage community and push back against encouraged narcissism. The speaker expressed gratitude for the support they've received throughout their journey during the COVID-19 pandemic and emphasized that they are always there for each other.

Anecdote in Science: The 224th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

Anecdote in Science: The 224th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

In this 224th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss animal behavior: the implications of an orangutan using a medicinal plant to treat a wound, and the one-off videos that we’ve all seen—of cats preventing toddlers from falling, of a beluga whale retrieving a woman’s phone. What does this say about the minds of these other organisms, and about us? Also: dog domestication, from wolves, but not from foxes. And: the New York Times publishes more insipid garbage about vaccine injury, Bret returns to the question of what safety means, and The Nation turns its back on its muckraking roots.

Never Alone: The 223rd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

In this 223rd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss science and religion, materialism and other ways of understanding our world. Can analysis and quantification explain everything? Can narrative, intuition, and creativity? All are or should be part of the scientific process; science is incomplete with only one mode. We also discuss models, how they fail, how difficult they are to assess, and what one recent climate model has to say about the role of air pollution in Earth’s temperature. Enlightenment values require that we use our freedom to inquire about all things that we are curious about. Also: happy Beltane!

Why Darwin was Right: The 222nd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

Why Darwin was Right: The 222nd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying

In this 222nd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss evolution, and how we know that it is true. We discuss the different kinds of beliefs that people have—beliefs that attempt to reconcile with reality, vs beliefs that reconcile with social standing and comfort. If your beliefs put you on the outs with your friends, do you change your beliefs, or your friends? Are you willing to give up the cocktail party for reality? We also discuss research published in 2000 and funded by Fauci’s NIAID, which demonstrated that it was possible to make chimeric coronaviruses, swapping the spike protein from one to a different species entirely. Finally: sex-biased gene expression, in which genes are expressed differently in the two sexes, in anatomical systems as varied as brain, kidneys, and liver.
