    Carl Bogan

Artificial intelligence has been a running theme on the podcast this year, and I couldn’t think of a better person to talk shop about this with than the one and only Carl Bogan. Through his studio, Myster Giraffe, he’s created viral mashups that have racked up millions of views across social media.

Carl spoke a bit about his experiences as a visual effects artist, and then we went into a deep discussion about all things synthetic media — generative AI, deepfakes, media literacy, government regulations…you name it. But we didn’t just geek out about that! Carl told his story about how he got interested in visual effects, what motivates him, and where he wants his work to go in the future. This episode will definitely give you some food for thought!

Building a Team with NWSL’s Chief Medical Officer Cindy Chang, Part 2

Building a Team with NWSL’s Chief Medical Officer Cindy Chang, Part 2

On today’s episode, I’m back with part 2 of my conversation talking to sports medicine physician Dr. Cindy Chang about building a team.

Last week, you heard part one of my conversation with Cindy. If you haven’t heard that yet, go back and give it a listen and then come right back here for part two!

Cindy is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the National Women’s Soccer League and one of my heroes in sports medicine. She is a Professor Emeritus in Family Medicine and Orthopedics at UCSF and the former head team physician at UC Berkeley. As the first Chief Medical Officer of the NWSL, Cindy is building medical care teams and protocols from the ground up, all in the name of these professional women soccer athletes’ health and well-being. This episode picks up where we left off last week and we dive into Cindy’s current job.

    We talk about:

    • Becoming the first Chief Medical Officer for the National Women’s Soccer League
    • Encouraging questions and involving your entire staff in the decision-making process
    • Standing up for what you believe in

Hiring, Training Staff and Understanding How to Build a Team

    Let’s talk about hiring.

Whether you’ve been hiring for a while, having a hard time hiring people for your company or you’re looking towards the future, I got you. This episode is for everyone who has a big vision for your business and wants to build a great team in the process.

Today I’ll discuss why you should NEVER hire your friends, why hiring fans of your brand is actually a bad idea, which website to use when you’re looking for professionals and why it’s actually a *bad move* to hire someone in order to train them. Some of these opinions are controversial, but hear me out.
