Self Abandonment of Complex Post Traumatic Stress

Self Abandonment of Complex Post Traumatic Stress

The essence of who we are radiates when we live in our purpose. When we can connect with our true self and share it with others. There are many blockers stopping us from being able to express our feelings, or even know what we’re experiencing, and one of them is self abandonment.

Don’t let the “self” fool you — sometimes, we unintentionally abandon ourselves because of the survival responses born as a result of trauma. Until healing begins, we can get stuck living through learned patterns of ignoring our own needs in favor of others around us, suppressing feelings to protect ourselves from the neglect of others, and rejecting our intuition.

Trauma Rewired host, Jennifer, and Elisabeth Kristof of Brain-Based Wellness are finishing the CPTSD series by discussing this final component of CPTSD: self abandonment. They talk about the ways we abandon ourselves through the lens of their own experiences, and how it manifests in a cycle of self-abuse and shame.

If you find yourself disregarding your own health and happiness, tune in to understand this component of CPTSD and how healing is possible!

    Presence

    Presence

How do you show up in the world, in relationships, at work? Even just sitting in a sauna. Can you safely say you are fully present in these situations? If you feel you aren’t present most of the time, you’re not alone. Most people aren’t, especially if you’ve experienced complex trauma. On the bright side, presence can be learned by using the right tools to get you there.

Presence is a topic that is near and dear to our hosts Jennifer and Elisabeth’s hearts, precisely because of how they both struggled to be present after experiencing trauma, but also the gift presence provided them in all aspects of life once re-learned.

While offering the tools required to become present to live a fulfilling and healthy life with secure attachment styles in relationships.

This episode dives deep into the science behind presence as well as what happens when you are in your body for the first time in a long time and how using the tools provided in the NSI training can help. Understanding how your brain operates when it is fully present and how it affects your body, while having tools to help you get there, can literally put years back on to your life.

Tune in for this and more!

    • How Jennifer and Elisabeth define presence

    • Why presence is important for healing complex traumas

    • Empowerment that comes from presence

Astrology, Cosmology, and Divinity; Connecting Deeper Through Regulation

Astrology, Cosmology, and Divinity; Connecting Deeper Through Regulation

Spiritual practices, like meditation or spending time outdoors, have the ability to expand our consciousness and cultivate connection with ourselves and the universe.

But today’s guest, NSI practitioner and educator Melanie Weller, is sharing something important for you to remember: “Any evolution that we aspire to experience for ourselves starts with nervous system regulation.”

To get the most out of your spiritual practices, for them to truly impact behavior and change your perspective, you must have the capacity and resiliency to experience moments of “awe” or stress without dysregulation. That’s why Melanie and hosts Jennifer and Elisabeth are diving deeper into the power of nervous system regulation, sharing how presence and embodiment transformed their own healing practices and resulted in expanded spirituality and self-expression.

This episode also covers the science behind loneliness and our health, how cosmology affects the nervous system, and the concepts of species loneliness and fearless presence.

    Embodiment is Scary AF

    Embodiment is Scary AF

Embodiment has many different meanings, but to be embodied from a neurosomatic intelligence perspective relates to the integration of the body, mind and spirit. It means you are aware of the connection between your body and its internal sensations, your emotions, and your behaviors.

Sharing her journey to embodiment and how she uses it in her work as a mindset coach is Tracy Litt, speaker and founder of The Litt Factor. Tracy is also a bestselling author and her new book, “Expander: For Trailblazing Women Building a New World,” outlines the damaging paradigms that hold us back and what we can do to replace them.

In this episode, Tracy helps us look at embodiment through the lens of neurosomatic intelligence, including how it impacts our relationships, career, and health. You’ll learn more about dissociation, what keeps us from feeling and being in our bodies, and how emotional expression will transform your life.

There is a natural fear to change and embodiment, but you have to remember that YOU are the creator of your own life. Tune in to find out how to start healing through nervous system work!

    Topics discussed in this episode:

    • What embodiment truly means

    • Embodiment as necessary for change

    • Our personal paths to embodiment

    • The importance of slowing down

    • What disconnects women to their bodies
