Dive into the fifth episode of Another Triathlon Podcast presented by Mauna Endurance, where hosts Jenna, Fede, and Josh navigate the intricate world of triathlon. In this episode, the hosts not only discuss their own training and racing journeys but also take on some thoughtful questions from the show's dedicated listeners.

The trio tackle tough topics such as dealing with intense back pain during a run, creating a strategy for nutrition during long runs and hot races. In a humorous yet thoughtful twist, they also discuss the 'WTF Moment of the Week', which centers around the controversial 'Enhanced Games', an alternate version of the Olympics where doping is, surprisingly, permitted.

Listeners are also treated to in-depth race recaps from Ironman 70.3 Andorra and Ironman Frankfurt, the European Championships. With the outstanding performances of athletes like Jan Frodeno and Ashleigh Gentle, there's plenty of race excitement to dissect. The hosts also have fun comparing their pre-race predictions and highlighting their favorite social media post of the week.

Since it's Tour de France season, listeners can expect the hosts to share their passion for cycling, delving into some serious peloton analysis and mountain stage appreciation in the weeks to come.

This episode is a rich blend of personal stories, listener queries, race reviews, and the love of endurance sports. For those seeking to push the boundaries of triathlon talk, this episode offers an insightful and entertaining ride.

CAUTION: Real and Raw Race Report. Racing to me has always been a little microcosm for my life. This race was no different. I shared a warrior ballad that I wrote before the race that became my mantra during the race. Knowing this was my first time trying to race since my new ski accident and my new ACL, I knew there was going to be a lot of emotions and pain involved.

I take you through race morning, and then I take you on my journey through the swim, bike, and run.

I share moments that stood out and life lessons I hope to implement into my life.

Everyone that makes it to the start line and the finish line not only has a story of how they got to the finish line, but how they got to the start line with all the twists and turns life takes.

That is why finishing a race really helps you find your inner warrior.

42 - KEY TO CONSISTENT EXERCISE with massage therapist Sparrow Heatley

Are you having a hard time staying consistent with exercise? This week, massage therapist and yoga instructor Sparrow Heatley shares how she learned new skills, faced her fears, and showed up for herself while training for her first sprint triathlon. Exercise is usually our last priority when we are busy and overwhelmed. But that’s when we need it the most! Exercise reduces stress and increases energy, resulting in a great ripple effect. After a workout you choose to eat healthier, sleep better at night, and experience an uplifted mood. Sometimes exercising to lose a certain amount of weight or to look a certain way is not juicy enough to keep us motivated for long periods of time.

In this episode, we uncover how setting a big goal with specific benchmark dates is the key to staying motivated and consistent - even when we are at our busiest or feeling our lousiest. We invite you to say YES to the challenge you’ve had in mind for yourself!

Episode 168: Tom Fleck & Triathlon Tips For Newbies

“Don’t forget to look around and take it all in. Enjoy the moment. Breathe the fresh air, look at the mountains, and appreciate that you’re healthy enough to be out there doing it.”

On this week’s episode of the Eat Green Make Green Podcast I sit down with Coach Tom Fleck. Coach Fleck is a Boston-based triathlete, triathlete coach, and Founder of Here & Now Fitness. We talk briefly about Tom’s races since we last spoke (Episode 150) and then I ask every question I have about racing as I set out to take on Ironman Timberman 70.3 on August 22nd. We talk about tactics for the swim, how to transition from the swim to the bike, how to go through aid stations while biking, why you want to have steady output on the bike, how much and when to consume nutrition, how to slowly build on the run, why managing my heart rate is the most important aspect of racing, and Coach Tom’s predictions on my time for Ironman Timberman 70.3.

Episode 150: Tom Fleck & Life In The Here And Now

“Life is always going to happen, you’re always going to hit bumps in the road that knock you off your path. You have to continue to consistently honor yourself, be of service, act with compassion, and put good food in your body.”

On this week’s episode of the Eat Green Make Green Podcast I sit down  with the inspirational Tom Fleck. Tom is a Boston-based triathlete, triathlon coach and Founder of Here & Now Fitness. We talk about the past year of Tom training me for Ironman, how my mindset has completely changed over the past year, why having children sparked Tom to change his lifestyle, Tom’s journey from being 300+ pounds to now being on the verge of qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and competing against the fittest in the world, the incomparable power of consistency, the role a plant-based diet has played in his transformation, the power of operating from a place of compassion, how Tom’s role in the addiction recovery community has helped him be a better coach, and why it truly is about the journey, not the destination. This one is pure inspiration!
