Cultivate a healthy relationship to yourself so you can thrive in work & life

Cultivate a healthy relationship to yourself so you can thrive in work & life

    Hey Friend,

Last week I got the great privilege of speaking at our local Women In Business Luncheon presented by our chamber. The topic we covered was the importance of working on your relationship to yourself so you can thrive in all areas of your life..including your work.

The relationship you have to yourself is the foundation from which every other relationship flows. It informs the way you think and feel, and everything you do.

This week I am sharing bits and pieces of that talk with you so you can begin implementing it today to make lasting changes in the key areas of your life so you can show up as the best version of yourself for what matters most.

If you're ready to take what you're learning here and apply it on a deeper level to your own life, you can learn more about my non-diet approach by heading to alishacarlson.com (where you can also set up your FREE consult)

Episode 72: Business Growth While Being a High Achieving Woman with Loraine Martinez Bellamy

In this episode on Real Talk with Regan, she interviews Loraine Martinez Bellamy, a life and business coach,  helping high-achieving women 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 expand beyond their 9-5s.

Loraine is here to help women own their lives more and more every day. Her rally cry is, "your life is for you. Make sure you enjoy it.”

In this episode Loraine and Regan talk about how high achieving women and business owners can have success.

    Highlights from this episode:

    • Loraine's story of how she had achieved her goals: having a wonderful partner, a beautiful house, and was  practicing law. From the outside looking in, everything looked great, but she knew she wanted more.

    • How over-achieving and highly accomplished women reclaim their time and energy. We dive into what is the first step in reclaiming their time and what does it look like.
    • How to make confidence decisions when we are used to overthinking and thinking that what we do is never good enough.
    • How to take consistent action on your dreams when you are busy and high achiever.
    • And why it’s safe to strive to be mediocre.

    What's Been Going On

    What's Been Going On

How do husband-and-wife life coaches face challenging times and personal loss? JP and Irene open up about what’s been going on recently and share perspective as they’re in the midst of the experiences.

Some takeaways:

    • We are not our feelings. We have feelings.
    • Too much news intake can affect mental health.
    • Connection and community are vital.
    • Faith and love are sources of comfort and healing.
    • Words of care are gifts to those who need them.
    • Coaching today can fortify you for the unexpected that happens tomorrow.

Pardon if this sounds trite…but it’s true that you are not alone. Yes, you may have to take a first, small step to find the connection you need. Love yourself just enough to take the step.

TPP #85 | Grown In The Struggle with Sara Emmerson

TPP #85 | Grown In The Struggle with Sara Emmerson

Have you ever felt stuck, numb, or wondering is there more for your life? Today I have a conversation with my new friend Sara Emmerson who shares that just because you are a Christian, doesn't mean hardships are out of the question.

God has grown me in the struggle. When hardship happens, my relationship with Him flourishes. My relationships with others flourish.

Sara is a champion of people and a coach who helps others get unstuck and level up to what is next in your life.  Her heart is to let others know that were made on purpose for a purpose.  She grew up knowing Jesus but seeing Him as a way to just do good and everything is going to fall into place.  We talk about so many things we all walk through, don't miss this conversation with Sara Emmerson.

    Our Conversation Points:

    • Rest in what God has for you in the moment
    • God's timing is everything
    • Failure and hardships are not out of the question
    • Did you know, confidence is a skill you can learn
    • Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope  fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may  overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Reflection Questions:

    1. Let's be people that don't hide our failures. How can you share your own "Bette Midler" audition moment this week with a friend?
    2. Think about Sara's idea on Rest and Respond. How can you apply that to your life or maybe one of your situations your walking through right now?

Meal Prep Made Quick and Easy for the Working Woman

Meal Prep Made Quick and Easy for the Working Woman

    Hey Friend!

We know meal planning and prepping ahead of the 5'oclock  dinner hour is helpful. But, if we are being honest, we also kind of hate it..

we hate feeling like we are eating the same thing over and over again
wasting food because we made too much
or buying ONE ingredient for one recipe and having to throw the rest of it away.

This week, I share with you my top tips to make meal planning and prep quick and easy (PLUS, I throw in some quick and dirty coaching to help you overcome your own brain's objections when it comes time to eat what you've planned/ prepped)

How to improve your body image by changing the way you think (REPLAY)

How to improve your body image by changing the way you think (REPLAY)

When you think about yourself or your body, what is the first thing that comes up?
If you're like the majority of the women I've worked with, it's usually not the most kind or loving thing.

We are pretty good about noticing all of our body's flaws and ways it needs to be 'fixed' or improved.

For many of my clients it can feel impossible to go from totally hating their bodies to feeling love toward them. That is where this concept comes from and can be super helpful in building a bridge of thoughts between where you are now in your relationship with your body and where you want to be.

In order for new thoughts to take hold, it takes time, it takes care, and it takes nurturing. And it all happens one thought at a time.

If you're ready to take this work deeper, and want to learn more about my non diet approach and how it can help you reach your fitness and life goals in a way that feels easy and totally doable then email me alisha@alishacarlson.com or connect with me on social.
