They dive deep into the impact the interoceptive system has on the nervous system, emotions and behaviors, especially in relation to disordered eating and body dysmorphia.

Jennifer and Elisabeth explore how past traumas shape our body image and inhibit our ability to express emotions safely through the body, sharing their own journeys from the cycle of maladaptive behaviors to loving acceptance.

    Presence

    Presence

How do you show up in the world, in relationships, at work? Even just sitting in a sauna. Can you safely say you are fully present in these situations? If you feel you aren’t present most of the time, you’re not alone. Most people aren’t, especially if you’ve experienced complex trauma. On the bright side, presence can be learned by using the right tools to get you there.

Presence is a topic that is near and dear to our hosts Jennifer and Elisabeth’s hearts, precisely because of how they both struggled to be present after experiencing trauma, but also the gift presence provided them in all aspects of life once re-learned.

In today’s episode, Jennifer and Elisabeth discuss how not being present, repressing emotions and dissociation can lead to health issues and deteriorate relationships. While offering the tools required to become present to live a fulfilling and healthy life with secure attachment styles in relationships.

This episode dives deep into the science behind presence as well as what happens when you are in your body for the first time in a long time and how using the tools provided in the NSI training can help. Understanding how your brain operates when it is fully present and how it affects your body, while having tools to help you get there, can literally put years back on to your life.

Tune in for this and more!

    Trauma Informed Police Care

    Trauma Informed Police Care

Is it possible to work through trauma and improve nervous system health when your job requires you to disconnect from your body in order to survive?

In this episode, you’ll learn how trauma-informed training can transform the lives of police officers and their communities by addressing issues of trauma and chronic stress within and outside of the organization. Host Elisabeth Kristoff, along with NSI practitioners Victor Jones and Janine Harris Elisabeth, recently trained police officers and first responders in neurosomatic intelligence as part of the Columbus CARE Coalition's trauma-informed initiative, and they were moved by the growth and understanding they witnessed from the attendees.

Among their takeaways from their experience is the critical need for support and tools that address the nervous system's role in managing anxiety and conflict, especially in high-stakes professions. Today’s conversation highlights how NSI work can lead to profound changes in how these professionals handle daily stressors, show empathy, and heal their communities.

Tune in to learn more about the powerful impact nervous system work can have on our communities!

    Topics discussed in this episode:

    • Janine’s work and the Columbus CARE Coalition framework

    • How NSI can improve the health of police officers

    Continuity of Parts

    Continuity of Parts

Following our episode on embodiment, we’re diving into the topics of parts of self, sex and pleasure because without presence, we are cheating ourselves out of healthy relationships and empowered sexual experiences.

Hosts Jennifer and Elisabeth have brought back Dr. Joli Hamilton, relationship coach and sex educator, to help them further examine how the relationship with our parts of self impact the way we behave towards ourselves and others.

A disconnection between our parts of self causes dysregulation, a lack of safety and intimacy in relationships, and even projection. But in this episode, you’ll learn how to have conversations with your parts of self, how to take ownership of your orgasm, and how NSI practices can help you heal.

We also discuss the concept of multiplicity, how trauma affects our ability to connect with our parts, and if dissociation during sex and sexual fawning changes the rules of consent. Plus, can a cervical orgasm stimulate the vagus nerve?

Listen in as we share the NSI tools that have helped us regulate our nervous system and connect with our body!

    Topics discussed in this episode:

    • Honoring your parts of self by giving them a voice

    • Projection of our disintegrated parts onto others

    • What we’ve gained from using NSI tools

    • Exploring pleasure and improving intimacy

    • The connection between nervous system regulation and orgasm

    • Dissociation during sex, sexual fawning and consent

    Embodiment is Scary AF

    Embodiment is Scary AF

Embodiment has many different meanings, but to be embodied from a neurosomatic intelligence perspective relates to the integration of the body, mind and spirit. It means you are aware of the connection between your body and its internal sensations, your emotions, and your behaviors.

Sharing her journey to embodiment and how she uses it in her work as a mindset coach is Tracy Litt, speaker and founder of The Litt Factor. Tracy is also a bestselling author and her new book, “Expander: For Trailblazing Women Building a New World,” outlines the damaging paradigms that hold us back and what we can do to replace them.

In this episode, Tracy helps us look at embodiment through the lens of neurosomatic intelligence, including how it impacts our relationships, career, and health. You’ll learn more about dissociation, what keeps us from feeling and being in our bodies, and how emotional expression will transform your life.

There is a natural fear to change and embodiment, but you have to remember that YOU are the creator of your own life. Tune in to find out how to start healing through nervous system work!

    Topics discussed in this episode:

    • What embodiment truly means

    • Embodiment as necessary for change

    • Our personal paths to embodiment

    • The importance of slowing down

    • What disconnects women to their bodies
