Ep 804 | My Mom on Mothering Toddlers, Teens & Adults | Guest: Lisa Simmons
Today we have a very special Mother's Day guest – Allie's mom! She's here to talk about raising children from babies to adults. We start out with some advice for mothers of babies and toddlers: you can't do everything, and that's OK. We talk about the pressure to have it all together and how quickly it will all go by. We also discuss how raising children can be categorized into three six-year segments, and we go through some advice for each segment. We'll share some stories from childhood and give some advice to the mom who is scared to have kids. We hope this episode encourages all you moms and moms-to-be out there! --- Timecodes: (00:51) Interview begins (01:35) Advice to moms of kids ages 0-6 / you can't do everything (07:14) Time goes by quickly (12:18) Advice to moms of kids ages 6-12 (17:32) Sleepovers, friendships & bullying (22:59) Devices & social media (24:44) Advice to moms of kids ages 12-18 / curfews (39:26) Advice to moms of adults (41:12) Grandparents (43:55) Advice to the mom who is scared to have kids --- Today's Sponsors: Patriot Mobile — go to PatriotMobile.com/ALLIE or call 878-PATRIOT and use promo code 'ALLIE' to get free activation! 200. Don’t Tell Glennon to Love Her Body
Why Glennon respects “body positivity” – but it doesn’t work for her.  What if every single thing we’ve learned about who we are is wrong? What if we ARE our Bodies? Stephen Fry: “Lost, alone and I wanted to take my life”

Stephen Fry: “Lost, alone and I wanted to take my life”
To call Stephen Fry a national treasure would be underselling him. One of the hardest working names in British media, you name it and Stephen has done it; writer, actor, director and comedian. The size of his contribution to British culture in over four decades as a public figure is staggering. However, behind this mountain of work and out of the spotlight is a side of Stephen Fry that many people will be completely unaware of, from a childhood of crime and loneliness, to severe mental health struggles and attempts at suicide. In this honest and revealing conversation Stephen discusses the scars he carries within him and which affect him to this day. But despite this he is constantly reinventing himself and striving to find joy in the smaller things in life, all the while spreading happiness and wonder with his work. BONUS Why your story matters and how to find purpose with Mark Leruste

BONUS Why your story matters and how to find purpose with Mark Leruste

Most people are afraid of what others might think or say if they showed up as their true authentic selves. Especially in a business context. That’s why so many of us are terrified of sharing our story authentically in public and struggle to make a lasting impact when introducing ourselves.

But what if you could effortlessly enroll and engage your audience every time you introduced yourself be it at work, on stage or even on a podcast?

To talk about this, I have a good friend of mine on the podcast, Mark Leruste. He was previously Country Manager of The Movember Foundation, he has an award winning podcast ‘The Unconventionalists’ and has an inspiring TEDx talk.

Mark is on a mission to eradicate career misery in the workplace for the next generation of leaders by helping organisations and those who lead them clarify their purpose to better lead and inspire their people, and share their story more powerfully so the world listens.

His book “Glow In The Dark” is a guide to learn how to raise your profile and impact the world with your story.

But why are stories important? I’ll be honest, I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to words like being your true, authentic self. What does this actually mean? I learnt a lot from Mark.

    Episode 55: ADHD and Masking

    Episode 55: ADHD and Masking

Mrs ADHD returns, bringing with her all the chaos that is expected for an episode on ADHD and masking. Despite this, as usual, the episode includes very dull yet informative psychoeducation delivered by old balloon head,  Alex the Psychoeducation Monkey,  the personal reflections from all three ADHD adults and the usual  'top tips'.  'What has James lost, forgotten or mislaid this week?" returns just to annoy Alex, but will he finally choose laptops? Alex reads out correspondence from 'Robert from Kidderminster', even in his poorly state and also continues to alienate our international listeners with his ridiculous hellos.  Will James get shushed again? Will Mrs ADHD manage to not interrupt? Will Alex's head continue to be the butt of everybody's jokes? Listen to find out...
