    Niching looks different for everyone

    Niching looks different for everyone

I have a pet peeve, and it's the messages going around on Social Media that if you haven't "Niched down" to a minute level you won't be successful... quite frankly it's bullshit.

There are so many businesses out there that would not benefit from only targeting for example "accountants" and I myself have pushed back on many marketers and business coaches who have tried to tell me I should only be selling to one industry.

Why do I know that this is detrimental to my business and truly shit advice?

Because my marketing model and the things I implement for businesses are unique... sure there is a base of how I work and what I do, but the whole point of what I offer is the fact that it's not cookie-cutter.

So in this episode, I hopefully open your mind up to thinking about nicheing differently and think about how your messaging needs to hit the market you choose.

Being so specific about who we serve that we ignore entire markets begging for our service/product isn't beneficial and it won't give you longevity in your business.

If you're unsure about anything I speak to in this episode and want advice, hit me up on the links below.

Buyer Psychology and Identifying the Four Buyer Types with Sage Polaris

Buyer Psychology and Identifying the Four Buyer Types with Sage Polaris

It’s tough to know what to say on your website or sales page in a “normal year.” Throw in inflation and things get… complicated. To keep sales steady, you need a deep understanding of your buyers, their motivations, and how to speak directly to their hesitations. Especially on your website, the first place many of your potential customers land.  Sage Polaris, an expert conversion copywriter, joined me to discuss buyer psychology and her system for speaking to the four buyer types—using characters from The Simpsons—as well as what impacts their decision-making. If you—like many other business owners—have seen a decline in sales in 2023, you aren’t going to want to miss this episode!

Top reasons to listen to the entire episode:

    1. Discover how to quickly spot the four buyer types and get a better understanding of what impacts their buying decisions
    2. Compare reasons to niche and decide once and for all if it’s something you should do for your business
    3. Uncover ways to modify offers and marketing activities to get more people in the door during challenging economic times

Values Based Marketing and Email as a Long Term Strategy with Tarzan Kay

Values Based Marketing and Email as a Long Term Strategy with Tarzan Kay

Welcome to today’s episode, where I’m interviewing Tarzan Kay - a former copywriter-for-hire who specialises in emails that are fun to read, and more addictive than Netflix! We chat about ethical, values based marketing, understanding your audience, growing your email list and not putting all of your real estate in social media.

Tarzan teaches her students how to write story-based copy and make consistent sales from a small email list, without using fear or FOMO. Part of her company’s mission is to make high integrity marketing the new status quo for online business.

     We dive into:

    • Being persistent and consistent with your message (and why it matters)
    • How Tarzan niched down into emails and sales pages, and transitioned from writing for clients to writing for herself
    • Maintaining a well nurtured email list and how it helps your business
    • Short and long term email strategies, and why you need both
    • What do we really mean by ethical or values based marketing?
    • The art of persuasion, and how to use it without feeling icky

3 Reasons to Niche Down in EdTech | Matthew Downing

In this episode of Build Momentum, We are joined by Matthew Downing, an educator and a podcast host who is interested in the way how technology transforms the learning process and engages students in authentic learning experiences.

Matthew is from Philadelphia where he is a part of a large, urban, diverse public school district. He is passionate about helping teachers integrate technology in transformative ways while engaging students to use different technological tools in the classroom to promote a deeper learning experience.

    Some Questions I Ask:

    • Who you are, what you do, and your passion for education?? (1:11)
    • Have you talked with others who are kind of working across different district sizes? And I don't know if the same tools would work in those districts? (2:16)
    • What is your dissertation about, what you're covering, and what you're researching? (3:35)
    • When you say attitudes and beliefs, you are talking about their attitudes and beliefs towards technology, and how they're feeling? How are you proposing that we improve those or address that? (5:38)
    • What is your take on merging entrepreneurship and education? (9:34)
    • How to set up education to blend with innovation and entrepreneurship (19:42)
    • Your conversations with many of these individuals on your shows that you have on your podcasts? Do you have any thoughts on how they can build awareness for themselves? And how to do that effectively? (15:25)

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

    • Similarities between the Rural and Urban districts in dealing with technology. (2:27)
    • Matthew's overview of his dissertation about how we can use professional development to technology integration in schools. (4:10)
    • How to improve the attitude and beliefs of students, teachers, and administrators towards technology. (5:53)
    • Setting up education for innovation. (12:10)
    • Matthew's insight on thought leadership and how to build awareness effectively through his podcast. (15:36)

    Quotes:

“I've noticed through the process is that attitudes and beliefs play a huge role within professional development and within technology integration.

    “Trust is universal.”

"It's starting small and then iterating, and allowing that to grow."

"I would just encourage them to one start small. But if you're going against the stream and the stream is too heavy, and you can't break it, you might have to get out and Get into a different stream that has the flow where you want to go."

FG2A 57: GABI LIM: Awareness of Ego & Self-sabotage - The first steps to healing the relationship with both food and your body

This week I'm talking with Gabi Lim. Gabi has overcome years of emotional and binge eating. For most of her early life she felt shy and insecure, and at times felt like she was at war with both food and her own body. Gabi did deep inner work and figured out how to change all of that. She has manifested effortless weight loss, and learned how to love every bit of her body, all while making peace with food, and massively increasing her confidence. Now, Gabi is a food & body coach who is dedicated to helping women heal their relationship with food and their body so they can finally live freely and feel like a goddess in their own skin!

    Listen in to hear about:

    • Niching down
    • Becoming aware of ego is the first step to clarity
    • The powerful question that opens doors to opportunity
    • Finding a community of likeminded souls
    • Becoming aware of when you are self-sabotaging
